    Job Title: Construction Civil Engineer

    Job Summary:

    The Construction Civil Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and managing civil engineering aspects of construction projects in Canada. This role requires expertise in structural design, project management, and construction methodologies. The successful candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, ensure compliance with regulations, and contribute to the timely and efficient completion of projects.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Plan, design, and oversee the construction of civil engineering projects, such as buildings, bridges, roads, and infrastructure.
    • Conduct site visits to assess project feasibility, review site conditions, and gather necessary data for design and planning.
    • Prepare engineering designs, calculations, and technical specifications, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
    • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless project coordination and integration.
    • Manage and supervise construction activities, including monitoring progress, quality control, and adherence to project specifications.
    • Perform structural analysis and design using appropriate engineering software and methodologies.
    • Conduct regular inspections to ensure construction activities comply with safety standards and relevant regulations.
    • Prepare project cost estimates, budgets, and schedules, and monitor project financials throughout the construction process.
    • Resolve technical issues and provide engineering solutions to challenges that may arise during construction.
    • Prepare and review project documentation, including drawings, reports, and technical submittals.
    • Maintain effective communication with project stakeholders, providing updates, addressing concerns, and ensuring client satisfaction.

    Required Qualifications and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
    • Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) license or eligibility for registration with the relevant provincial engineering association in Canada.
    • Proven experience in civil engineering and construction projects, preferably in a supervisory or managerial role.
    • Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, codes, standards, and best practices.
    • Proficiency in engineering software and tools, such as AutoCAD, SAP2000, or ETABS.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Strong project management and organizational skills.
    • Attention to detail and accuracy.

    Preferred Skills and Attributes:

    • Experience working on construction projects in Canada or similar environments.
    • Knowledge of Canadian building codes and regulations.
    • Familiarity with sustainable and green construction practices.
    • Understanding of geotechnical engineering principles.
    • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
    • Time management and ability to prioritize tasks.
    • Adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic work environment.
