Job Overview

The Construction Technician will assist in various aspects of construction projects, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and to high standards. This role requires a solid understanding of construction practices, strong technical skills, and the ability to work effectively with project teams.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist with the setup and maintenance of construction sites, including the setup of tools and equipment
• Conduct site inspections and report on construction progress, quality, and safety
• Interpret and review blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements
• Support the project manager and engineers in coordinating construction activities
• Ensure that all construction work meets quality and safety standards
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on construction equipment
• Document and report any issues or deviations from project plans
• Assist with the implementation of project changes and modifications
• Collaborate with subcontractors and other stakeholders to ensure timely completion of tasks

Qualifications/Skills

• Strong technical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Good communication and teamwork abilities
• Proficiency with construction tools and equipment
• Knowledge of construction safety regulations and practices

Education and Experience Requirements

• Diploma or degree in Construction Technology, Civil Engineering, or a related field
• Previous experience in a construction technician or similar role is preferred
• Familiarity with construction management software and tools is an asset
• Certification in construction safety (e.g., WHMIS, First Aid) is an advantage
