Job Overview

The Delivery Truck Driver will be responsible for transporting goods to various locations safely and efficiently. This role requires a professional attitude, excellent driving skills, and the ability to manage delivery schedules while maintaining high standards of customer service.

Job Responsibilities

• Operate a delivery truck to transport goods to designated locations according to the delivery schedule
• Ensure the safe and timely delivery of goods, following all traffic and safety regulations
• Inspect the truck before and after each trip to ensure it is in good working condition
• Load and unload cargo, securing items to prevent damage during transport
• Maintain accurate delivery records, including delivery receipts and mileage logs
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers to provide updates on delivery status
• Handle any delivery-related issues or concerns professionally and efficiently
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, including safety and compliance guidelines
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on the truck as needed

Qualifications/Skills

• Valid Class 1 or Class A commercial driver’s license
• Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record
• Strong knowledge of local and regional routes
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Ability to lift and carry heavy packages and operate a hand truck or dolly
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities
• Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively

Education and Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience as a delivery truck driver is preferred
• Experience with route planning and GPS navigation systems is an asset
• Certification in cargo securement and hazardous materials handling is an advantage
