Job Overview
The Family Caregiver will be responsible for assisting with daily living activities, providing companionship, and ensuring the well-being and comfort of the elderly family members. This role requires empathy, patience, and the ability to manage various caregiving tasks efficiently.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist with personal care activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Plan and prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor health conditions
- Provide companionship and engage in meaningful activities to enhance mental and emotional well-being
- Assist with mobility and physical exercises to maintain physical health
- Perform light housekeeping duties to ensure a clean and safe living environment
- Monitor and report any changes in health or behavior to the family and healthcare professionals
- Accompany the elderly family members to medical appointments and other outings
- Ensure the safety and security of the elderly family members at all times
Qualifications/Skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Ability to handle the physical demands of the job, including lifting and supporting the elderly
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature
- Basic knowledge of first aid and CPR
- Ability to work independently and as part of a family team
Education and Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification in caregiving or a related field is preferred
- Previous experience as a caregiver or in a similar role
- Experience working with elderly individuals or those with chronic illnesses is an advantage
