Job Title: Welder
Job Summary:
The Welder will be responsible for welding and fabricating metal components in accordance with project requirements and industry standards. This role requires expertise in welding techniques, knowledge of different types of metals, and strong technical skills. The successful candidates will work collaboratively with project teams, adhere to safety standards, and contribute to the successful completion of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret welding blueprints, drawings, and specifications to plan and execute welding tasks.
- Operate welding equipment, such as arc welders, MIG welders, and TIG welders, to join metal components.
- Perform various types of welding, including shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), and gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW).
- Prepare metal surfaces for welding by cleaning, grinding, and removing rust or debris.
- Measure, cut, and fit metal components according to project requirements.
- Inspect and test welded joints for quality and adherence to specifications.
- Perform repairs, modifications, and alterations to metal structures as required.
- Adhere to safety regulations and procedures for welding operations, including proper use of safety gear and equipment.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient project execution.
- Maintain accurate documentation of welding work, including welding logs and inspection reports.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid welding certification or equivalent qualification.
- Proven experience as a Welder, preferably in a relevant industry.
- Strong knowledge of welding techniques, metal types, and safety practices.
- Proficiency in various welding processes, including SMAW, GMAW, and GTAW.
- Familiarity with welding equipment and tools.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Skills and Attributes:
- Experience working in Canada or similar environments.
- Understanding of Canadian welding codes and regulations.
- Knowledge of different welding methods and their applications.
