Magna International is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Setup Technician to join our dynamic team. As a Setup Technician, you will play a crucial role in the efficient setup and operation of our manufacturing processes. Responsibilities:
- Equipment Setup: Perform the setup, installation, and calibration of machinery and equipment used in the manufacturing process. Ensure that all equipment is properly adjusted and functioning efficiently, following established guidelines and specifications.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues related to equipment setup and operation, including mechanical, electrical, or programming problems. Conduct thorough diagnostics to determine the root cause of problems and implement appropriate solutions.
- Maintenance and Repair: Conduct regular preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime. Collaborate with maintenance teams to address complex repair tasks and maintain a safe working environment.
- Quality Control: Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications. Perform inspections and tests to identify deviations or defects, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement. Propose and implement modifications to enhance efficiency, productivity, and safety while maintaining product quality.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and setup procedures. Generate reports on equipment performance, downtime, and production metrics to track and analyze trends.
- Training and Support: Provide training and support to production operators, ensuring they have a clear understanding of equipment setup procedures and safety protocols. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote knowledge sharing and enhance overall operational excellence.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or vocational training preferred.
- Proven experience as a Setup Technician or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, diagrams, and manuals.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and principles.
- Experience with troubleshooting and repairing manufacturing equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think analytically and make sound decisions.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and precision.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively within a team.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities, capable of multitasking and meeting deadlines.
