Responsibilities:
Personal Care: Assist individuals with their daily personal care routines, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and maintaining personal hygiene.
Medication Management: Administer medications according to prescribed instructions and ensure proper documentation.
Mobility Assistance: Provide support with mobility needs, including transferring, walking, and using assistive devices if necessary.
Meal Preparation: Prepare nutritious meals and snacks based on dietary requirements and preferences, ensuring proper food safety and hygiene practices.
Household Tasks: Perform light housekeeping duties such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing living spaces to maintain a safe and comfortable environment.
Companionship: Engage in meaningful conversations, activities, and leisure pursuits to enhance the emotional well-being and social interaction of the individuals.
Transportation: Accompany individuals to medical appointments, social outings, and other activities as required.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care provided, including any significant observations or incidents, and report them to the appropriate supervisor.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience: Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Prior experience in caregiving, healthcare, or related fields is preferred but not mandatory.
Visa Sponsorship: Must be a foreigner seeking visa sponsorship to work in Canada as a caregiver.
Compassion and Empathy: Show genuine care and empathy towards individuals requiring assistance, treating them with respect, dignity, and sensitivity.
Communication Skills: Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with individuals, families, and healthcare professionals.
Cultural Sensitivity: Embrace and respect diversity, cultural differences, and individual preferences.
Physical Stamina: Have the physical capability to lift, carry, and support individuals as required, and be able to perform tasks that involve standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
Reliability and Dependability: Demonstrate a strong work ethic, punctuality, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Language Proficiency: Proficiency in English or French is typically required, depending on the language preference of the individual(s) you will be caring for.
