Job Description
Squire & Firkin is seeking a dedicated and experienced Food Service Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring high standards of food quality and customer service, and leading our team of food service workers. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a passion for the food service industry.
Job Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate activities of food service staff to ensure efficient and effective operations
- Oversee food preparation, portion sizes, and presentation to maintain quality standards
- Train and mentor new employees, providing guidance and support to ensure a high level of performance
- Schedule staff shifts and manage labor costs to optimize efficiency
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback in a professional and courteous manner
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock to prevent shortages or wastage
- Assist in menu planning and development to enhance the dining experience
- Conduct regular inspections of kitchen and dining areas to ensure cleanliness and orderliness
- Collaborate with management to implement policies and procedures to improve service quality
Qualifications/Skills
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Thorough understanding of food service operations and best practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality standards

Education and Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Post-secondary education in hospitality or related field is an asset
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in food service or restaurant supervision
- Certification in food safety and sanitation (e.g., Food Handler Certification)
Working Environments
