Job Description
We are currently seeking compassionate and dedicated Home Support Workers to join our team. The Home Support Worker will be responsible for providing assistance with daily activities, personal care, and household tasks for clients in their homes. This role requires empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing
- Provide assistance with mobility, transfers, and exercises as needed
- Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and medication reminders
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as cleaning, laundry, and errands
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Monitor and report changes in clients' health or behavior to the appropriate supervisor
- Follow care plans and instructions provided by the client or their family members
- Maintain confidentiality and respect clients' privacy and dignity at all times
- Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and other members of the care team
- Adhere to safety protocols and infection control measures
Qualifications/Skills
- Compassion and empathy for others
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Patience and understanding of clients' needs
- Basic knowledge of personal care and household tasks
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
Education and Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification or training in home support or personal care assistance is an asset
- Previous experience working in a similar role is preferred but not required
Working Environments
- Flexible working hours, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Travel to clients' homes within the designated service area
- Physical requirements include standing, bending, lifting, and assisting with transfers
