Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Network Support Technician to join our team in Canada. The Network Support Technician will be responsible for providing technical support, troubleshooting network issues, and maintaining network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to end-users for network-related issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software components.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and resolve them in a timely manner.
- Monitor network performance and implement optimization strategies.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to diagnose and resolve complex network problems.
- Maintain documentation of network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Implement security measures to protect network systems and data.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of network upgrades and expansions.
Qualifications/Skills
- Strong understanding of network protocols and technologies.
- Proficiency in network troubleshooting and diagnostics.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices is a plus.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field preferred.
- Certification in network administration or related area (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA) is advantageous.
- Previous experience in a network support role or IT help desk position preferred.
