Job Summary: As a Park Maintenance Labourer, you will play a crucial role in preserving the beauty and functionality of our parks and green spaces. You will work closely with a team of skilled professionals to ensure the proper care and maintenance of park facilities, providing a safe and welcoming environment for visitors. Your dedication to excellence and attention to detail will contribute to the overall aesthetics and functionality of the parks we maintain.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including mowing lawns, trimming hedges, and watering plants to uphold the park's visual appeal.
- Inspect and clean park amenities, such as benches, playground equipment, and picnic areas, to ensure they are safe and in good working condition.
- Remove litter and debris from the park grounds to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards.
- Assist in planting flowers, trees, and shrubs, and apply fertilizers and pesticides under the guidance of experienced horticulturists.
- Participate in the maintenance and repair of pathways, fences, and other park infrastructure to ensure safety and accessibility for all visitors.
- Support the team in preparing and organizing park events, festivals, and recreational activities.
- Operate and maintain various park maintenance equipment, such as lawnmowers, trimmers, and leaf blowers, following safety guidelines.
- Report any safety hazards, incidents, or issues to the supervisor promptly.
- Follow all company policies and guidelines to maintain a safe and respectful work environment.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Previous experience in landscaping, gardening, or park maintenance is an asset but not mandatory.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions from experienced team members.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
- A positive attitude and a passion for maintaining green spaces and contributing to the community's well-being.
