Responsibilities:

  1. Workplace Mediation: Serve as a mediator between employees and employers to resolve conflicts and disputes effectively. Conduct fair and impartial investigations into workplace grievances.
  2. Labor Law Compliance: Stay up-to-date with Canadian labor laws and regulations, and provide expert advice to clients on compliance matters.
  3. Collective Bargaining: Facilitate negotiations between employers and labor unions to reach mutually beneficial collective bargaining agreements.
  4. Employee Relations: Advise employers on best practices for maintaining positive relationships with their workforce, ensuring employee satisfaction and engagement.
  5. Conflict Resolution: Implement strategies to manage workplace conflicts and disciplinary matters in a professional and constructive manner.
  6. Employment Policies: Assist organizations in developing and implementing robust employment policies and procedures.
  7. Training and Development: Conduct workshops and training sessions for employers and employees on various labor-related topics, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  8. Legal Guidance: Collaborate with legal teams to address labor-related legal challenges and ensure risk mitigation.
  9. Labor Market Analysis: Analyze labor market trends to help organizations make informed decisions regarding workforce planning and talent acquisition.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Labour Relations Consultant or in a similar labor relations role.
  • Thorough understanding of Canadian labor laws and regulations.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Proficiency in English (additional languages are an asset).
  • Demonstrated cultural awareness and sensitivity.
