    Job Description

    GP Custom Metals Inc. is seeking a skilled and experienced Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing various welding tasks, fabricating metal structures, and ensuring all work meets our high standards of quality and precision. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and craftsmanship.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Perform various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding, on a variety of metals
    • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
    • Set up and operate welding equipment and tools safely and efficiently
    • Fabricate and assemble metal structures and components according to specifications
    • Inspect welded joints and structures to ensure they meet quality and safety standards
    • Perform maintenance and repairs on welding equipment as needed
    • Collaborate with other team members to complete projects on time and within budget
    • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment
    • Document work completed and maintain accurate records

    Qualifications/Skills

    • Proficient in various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, stick)
    • Strong understanding of metallurgy and welding principles
    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
    • Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship
    • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues
    • Good communication and teamwork skills
    • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
    • Physical stamina and strength to perform demanding tasks

    Education and Experience Requirements

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Completion of a formal welding training program or apprenticeship
    • Certification as a Welder (CWB or equivalent) is preferred
    • Proven experience working as a welder in a similar role
    • Experience with various welding equipment and tools
