Job Summary: As a Construction Labourer and Helper, you will play a vital role in supporting our construction projects by assisting tradespeople and performing a wide range of tasks on the construction site. Your responsibilities will encompass various activities, including material handling, site cleanup, equipment operation, and providing assistance to skilled trades. This role requires physical stamina, adaptability, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the setup and preparation of construction sites, ensuring all necessary materials and equipment are available.
- Perform manual tasks, such as lifting, carrying, and moving construction materials to designated areas.
- Operate construction equipment and machinery following safety guidelines and under supervision.
- Support skilled tradespeople, such as carpenters, masons, and electricians, in their daily tasks.
- Conduct site cleanup and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Assist with the installation of construction components, such as fixtures, scaffolding, and temporary structures.
- Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) during all work activities.
- Collaborate with other construction team members to ensure the smooth progress of projects.
- Support general maintenance and cleaning tasks on the construction site.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Previous experience in construction or a related field is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks and work in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Familiarity with operating construction equipment is a plus.
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions from experienced tradespeople and supervisors.
